Lito Arkangel, a 2015 Na Hoku Hanohano nominee for Most Promising New Artist for his debut release, “Me Ke Aloha,” performs 7 p.m. Sunday in Waimea.

Raised in the sugar plantation town of Keaau, Arkangel has worked his way from backyard Hawaiian jam-sessions to being rightfully known as one of Hawaii’s best falsetto singers and entertainers. Arkangel will feature performances from his acclaimed recording and will be accompanied by Hawaii Island’s steel guitarist, Dwight Tokumoto, and dancer Pualani (Kalauli) Kahoonei.

A Navy Persian Gulf veteran, Arkangel now lives in Hilo with his wife and three children and juggles performing and touring with his position as lecturer at UH-Hilo.
